Jones Creek trails (by browns bay) has had a good amount of foot
traffic. And if it gets cold soon should have a couple km of
good smooth hard packed snow. for umm. walking. Because bikes are
technically a no no.

The trail info packet that I read has no mention of cycling at
all either for or against. I know that is not a reason for the
Parks to put a ban on it, but as of now there is no ban. Tread
lightly and we should be fine, I hope. I was going to check
them out in the fall at night, but never got around to it.

I brought the neighbour's dog out there for a hike on a nice day
in early December before winter came.
I'm pretty sure there was a sign at the trailhead that said 'no
bicycles'.
Bike or no bike, it's worth a visit if you haven't gone yet:
some beautiful giant (for this area) trees and a several hundred
foot long wooden causeway through a wetland with a floating
bridge over part of the creek. (That's as far as I went on my
hike.)
Still, it would be nice to ride...

I went in and talked to them at the office (in my camp ground
garb) asking questions and the answer I got was no bikes. Also
there is a no bikes sign at the parking lot.
The reasons they had were pretty poor and easily could be worked
around. over use, trail design, user conflict, yada yada. None
of which seems like it would be a problem around here really in
my mind.
I have an email address of someone with more authority that they
gave me, just have yet to get around to getting in contact with
him yet. If anyone would like it I do have it around and would
give it out.
loop hole... park at the entrance near the Mallorytown 401 ramps.
No signs saying anything and better trails for riding as well.
Plus less likely to be filled with hikers. There is also plenty
of shoulder to get your car well off the road.

GO RIDE!
Just got back from Jones creek. did nearly 20k, it's fast, flowy
and grippy. Almost no ice at all just HARD packed snow. as long
as your on trail no break through at all.
Rode the outer most trail on this side of the bridge a couple
times switching direction(bear, eel, and the other ones..)
Best part was Snipe. It's not quite as buff but still really
good with some nice climbs and flowy downhills and even some
exposed rocks. I rode it both ways, and liked both! Clockwise is
completely rideable, counter i had to walk one climb but the
downhill from there was long and flowy.
GO PLAY

Was talking to someone that ran into a park staff or whatever at
Jones Creek on a bike last summer. I guess they talked for a bit
and the staff said bike were not aloud but didn't issue a ticket.
Reason being, bikes just were not being an issue yet (think he
said the ranger had only seen 12 mountain bikers last year.)
So. We aren't being hunted out there, I don't think. Would be
for it to be legal tho.
